Join fellow United Way Emerging Leaders as we serve Fight Hunger and Feed Hope at the San Antonio Food Bank. **This event is for active ELC members. Family/friend-friendly with active member.**
Children, veterans, elderly, homeless and vulnerable populations in our area need your help.
United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County is mobilizing our community to provide personal care and basic need items to our most vulnerable residents.
Volunteers will help decorate shoeboxes, sort product and pack "care packages" as we fill shoeboxes with personal care and basic need items from individuals, families and organizations in our community. Everyday items most of us take for granted, like toothbrushes, soap, or a comb can make a big difference for someone living in poverty or experiencing homelessness. Believe it or not, some of the most important essentials people need can fit right inside of a shoebox.
This project is fun and rewarding for both adults and children. Each volunteer under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult when volunteering alongside them.
This event is family/friend-friendly and a great way to introduce others to what ELC is all about!
Warehouse is climate controlled, dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather, and please wear closed toed shoes! Please wear your blue #ELCUWSA t-shirt or a United Way t-shirt. A water-bottle is recommended.
Join us as we have fun and together, create change within our community!
**Please note that this event takes place at the San Antonio Food Bank but NOT at their Volunteer Center. We will be at the NW side of the building. Details will be provided in follow-up communications.
