Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA) needs ELC volunteers to help with Spring Cleaning at the TurningPoint Transitional Living Program which provides housing and life skills training for young adults who have aged out of foster care and are homeless in our community.
The TurningPoint Program maintains five houses in the Dellview neighborhood (behind RMYA’s Bridge Emergency Shelter). These homes provide housing, case management, life skills training, and therapeutic support for up to 26 young adults who have aged out of foster care or are simply homeless in our community between the ages of 18-22 as they learn the skills they need for independent living.
We will meet at RMYA offices located at 3103 West Ave. and walk over to the Dellview neighborhood (just steps ways) for our volunteer activity. Volunteers will participate in raking leaves, trimming trees and bushes, mowing lawns, pressure washing, organizing storage areas and deep cleaning inside the homes.
This volunteer opportunity is open to #ELC volunteers 18 years of age and above. Please wear appropriate clothes for Spring Cleaning (i.e. your blue #ELCUWSA t-shirt, jeans, closed toe shoes). We also suggest work gloves, water and a great attitude!
