#ELCUWSA is super excited to host our 3rd annual Mobile Pantry volunteer opportunity! This year we have partnered with the San Antonio Food Bank for Hunger Action Month to provide 500 families with up to 50 pounds of food.
With continuing food insecurity and demand for food assistance, the Mobile Pantry allows the San Antonio Food Bank another passage to reach families and individuals in hard to reach areas. The Mobile Pantry provides hungry individuals access to a greater array of fresh, nutritious and healthy products.
Volunteers will assist by breaking down pallets of product, packing bags of food and distributing product to clients. Volunteers will also help with traffic control, collect vouchers from clients and if a client does not have a voucher then qualify client and assisting them with voucher, as directed. Duties will also include cleaning up the area and stacking pallets and trash into truck.
