Description

The 12th Annual United Way Shoebox Project provides everyday essentials to men, women, and children through the United Way Safe Net and Community Impact agencies.

The Volunteer Days include the following volunteer activities:

  • Decorating – wrapping shoebox tops with gift wrap
  • Sorting and Quality Control – checking to make sure donated contents are safe and appropriate
  • Assembly – Filling decorated shoeboxes with hygiene items
  • Packing – Pack completed shoeboxes onto pallets to be picked up by non-profit partners on distribution day

Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes and clothes appropriate for working in a warehouse. No sandals/flip-flops, extremely short skirts/shorts, or low-cut shirts. Individuals wearing open-toed shoes will not be allowed in warehouse areas.

We welcome family members and children to volunteer. Each volunteer under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

We ask that all supply donations be made before May 8, 2026, and dropped off at the San Antonio Food Bank or United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County offices.
