Who We Are

The Salvation Army is one of the world’s largest faith-based charities. Originally established in London, England in 1865, the Army has been helping people for more than 130 years in the United States.

The Salvation Army USA provides many different programs and services that range from sheltering and feeding the homeless to rebuilding communities after natural disasters.  We comfort the sick and elderly, support young people through after-school programs, and respond to needs in our community with practical help.

What We Do

Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Vision

The Salvation Army of San Antonio aims at making the community a better place. The Salvation Army offers a wide assortment of programs including our Emergency Family Shelter, Men's Shelter, Social Services, Disaster Services, Boys & Girls Club, Senior Center, Senior Living Facilities and Seasonal Programs.

The Salvation Army "Now More Than Ever," needs volunteers to assist those in our community who are in most need of our help.
