Maestro Entrepreneur Center

Maestro Entrepreneur Center (MEC) is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization located in a federally designated HUB Zone area of San Antonio. Maestro Entrepreneur Center has been open since May of 2016. The MEC’s mission is to “grow existing small businesses beyond the $1 million mark and to help create jobs in a historically underutilized area of town.” We are recognized as a place where entrepreneurship is cultivated. The center incubated businesses of various industries owned by minorities, veterans, and women. We incubate, accelerate, and connect successful entrepreneurs to small business owners to guide them through the growing stages of their small business.

Through incubating, accelerating, and connecting small businesses, MEC is creating jobs and opportunities for the local Greater San Antonio community. MEC provides resources and tools for entrepreneurs in order to continue the growth of their small businesses.

Research shows one of the biggest obstacles facing small businesses is the ability to sustain and build growth. MEC is designed to accelerate business growth by creating programs tailored to different industries. According to the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA), 87% of all businesses that graduate from accelerators are still in business after 5 years. Approximately 40-50% of start-ups in the U.S. fail in their first five years of operation.

Currently, we have 43 companies from various industries, such as construction, professional, culinary, and arts & culture, which has created 328 jobs and has held 224 programs/events with over 5,908 attendees. In addition, the average percent growth from our members is between 10% to 75%. At the Maestro Entrepreneur Center (MEC), we are revolutionizing how to grow the next generation of successful entrepreneurs. The MEC brings together, in one creative learning environment, leaders of today’s most successful businesses to mentor and grow tomorrow’s small business entrepreneurs.
