Plan, deliver and evaluate trainings that allow adult Girl Scout members to acquire knowledge, skills and resources needed to deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience program effectively.

We are in need of 1-3 volunteers to perform light administrative tasks to include:

- File assembly

- Filing

- File labels creating using MS Word

- Database updating

- Copying/scanning using a copy machine

- Assisting with social media, marketing, PowerPoint slideshows and other administrative tasks for children's events and fundraising events.

Training is provided and flexible weekday schedules are welcome!  Basic familiarity/experience using a PC and solid organizational skills are important.

This volunteer opportunity is a favorite among volunteers. You shop for NESA seniors who, through no fault of their own, need someone to shop for their groceries on a weekly or monthly basis. Volunteers call the assigned client for a list and shop accordingly; they deliver the groceries to the client in their homes and may put away the groceries for the client. Shoppers are assigned to clients on a one-to-one relationship. Clients continually praise their shoppers and feel they are a part of their family. If you are looking for a volunteer experience that is truly rewarding, appreciated, and satisfying, this is the job for you. Volunteer shoppers provide their own transportation and ARE reimbursed for mileage. Volunteer shoppers ARE reimbursed by check from the client for the groceries purchased. Transportation Volunteers drive and escort elderly clients, who can no longer drive, to scheduled doctor's appointments. They use their own vehicles, pick up clients at their homes, drive them to their doctor's office, remain with them and drive them back home. All clients live in northeast San Antonio. These volunteers are very special people driving very special people to needed doctor's appointments. Transportation Volunteers receive praise from clients and report great satisfaction in performing this worthwhile service to the elderly who have supported their community and made San Antonio such a wonderful place to live. One volunteer reported that it was like helping his parents. This is a true opportunity to help where help is needed, gratification is instant, and appreciation is freely expressed. Senior Center Assistant - (Year Round) 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

With the only Nationally Accredited Senior Center in South Texas, we strive to provide a safe, enjoyable and active environment for our clients. Volunteers help in all aspects of our daily program. Activities include, but are not limited to, morning walks, bingo, serving meals, arts and crafts, and activity monitors. Each of these activities are in place to stimulate the mind, body and spirit of our clients. In addition, volunteers are expected to participate and engage in programming to ensure that clients have an enjoyable experience.

At Good Samaritan, we want to set the best example for our students. Through a program that focuses on the 40 Developmental Assets set by the Search Institute, we target areas where our students might need some extra attention. Students that show signs of risk are paired with a mentor. Mentoring provides our clients with a positive adult role model in their life. By engaging with our students, our mentors will provide a demonstration of these assets, like integrity and goal setting.

Mentors must be at least 18 years of age and obtain a GED or high school diploma. They must also commit to at least four (4) consecutive monthly visits at an hour each time. 

School Year:
Mentoring is available during our Afterschool Program from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Summer:
Mentoring is available during our Camp Good Sam Program from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Assist in many different ways such as helping with scheduled Lecture Series events, daily content-specific Lab demonstrations, Super Saturdays at the museum, and outreach programs in the community. Public Program Volunteers are called upon to help as events are scheduled which may occur on Weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Assist the staff by greeting visitors to the museum, promoting membership and special exhibitions, answering general questions, and creating a welcoming and friendly environment for our visitors. These Volunteers focus on specific collections or exhibits and facilitate hands-on interactives with visitors. Specific duties include being able to answer questions and provide information on the exhibits in question. Volunteers are trained in the content area of specific exhibits and may work on weekdays, weekends, Tuesday evenings or special events.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our organization!  We hold therapy lessons Mon-Fri starting at 4:00pm and ending at 8:00pm each weekday.  The age requirement to volunteer during therapy lessons is 17 years and over.  Volunteers assist during lessons as side walkers.  The side walker provides support to the rider as needed.

Each (M-F) evening starts at 3:00 m and lasts until 9:00 pm.  We break the evening into two shifts for our volunteers. 

The first shift of volunteers come in from 3-6 pm.  These volunteers come in and groom the horses, clean the paddocks and put the hay out.  Then they get the saddles/tack and horses ready for lessons.  Lessons are from 4-6 pm.

The second shift of volunteers take over from 6-9 pm.  These volunteers come in and get the saddles/tack and horses ready for lessons.  Lessons are from 6-8 pm.  8-9 pm they feed, turnout horses and clean stalls/barn.

The Administrative Support Assistant will provide essential help to the staff of the Alamo Area Agency on Aging. Support includes but is not limited to answering telephone calls, taking messages or information, filing, assisting with survey data entry and mail-outs, assisting with assembly of a variety of packets and mailings, and assisting with creating newsletters. Additional support from the volunteer can be include data entry or computerized reports.

Volunteers will come to the office and provide essential help to the staff.
