3 VOLUNTEER SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Set-up 7am - 11am | Event Shift A 9am - 1:30pm | Event Shift B 1pm - 5pm
AccessAbility fest is an annual program that acts as a gateway to resources, opportunities and independence for individuals with disabilities in the San Antonio and surrounding communities. The festival is FREE and OPEN for the public to attend. This event is for individuals of all abilities, including those with physical, developmental, sensory and/or mental health challenges!
Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer without a supervising adult. Children, 13 and up are welcome to volunteer, but must be accompanied by an adult, 18 years of age or older.
Rain or shine. Water and snacks provided for volunteers. Food vendors on site for purchases. Market Square (El Mercado) Parking information is available online at www.AccessAbilityFest.com Volunteer check-in is located on the corner of Commerce and San Saba.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE (volunteers will be assigned to one of the following positions as needed)
Vendor Assistance:
Assist vendors with manning their booths during breaks and provide them with water when necessary.
Information Booth:
Assist at the information booth with lost and found, visitor information, exhibitor information, collecting surveys, distributing door prizes and answering various questions about the event.
Attendee Surveys:
Survey various attendees about their AccessAbility Fest experience and more throughout the event. Questions and clipboards are provided.
Greeter:
Distribute programs and armbands to attendees.
Entertainment:
Assist at entertainment stages with speakers, microphones, sound system, staging, etc.
Grounds Maintenance:
Assist with hanging signage, trash pick up, and other various tasks.
Parking Lot Attendant:
Assist individuals with finding parking in the right locations. There will be attendants in both the City Lot by ITC and in Alamo Dome Lot A.
Photographer:
Spend your shift taking photos, capturing the moments of the day and offering those who would rather not a smiley face sticker so that photographers are aware of who has "opted out" of being photographed.
Games:
Assist guests with games available and distribute prizes.
