Dining Room

Volunteers may be asked to perform any of the following duties:

Servers: These volunteers take plates and drinks from the Food and Drink Runners' trays and serve them to guests. Bussers/Clean up: Because of the number of guests coming and going, this is a critical job! Volunteers clear away plates, drinks and utensils and clean the table when a guest is finished. They also set new place settings to get ready for the next guest. 

To RSVP to volunteer, choose one of the RESPOND options:

Teams: Families, Groups, Churches, Corporations, etc. Select Respond as Team.

Food Line – Volunteers in the Food Line will spoon hot food onto plates in an assembly line. Requires volunteers who are willing to work hard and able to go with the flow. Ages 14 and up only, please.

Dining Room

Come out and be Santa's helper in our Read3 Children's area. Volunteers will assist little ones choose a book from the assortment, replenish books as needed, give out stickers and bookmarks, and participate in story time. Must love kids and books!

Volunteer Registration - Volunteers will use laptops and sign-in sheets to check off pre-registered volunteers as they arrive, as well as sign up walk-in volunteers. Also need to direct registered volunteers to orientation room. No standing required!

Guest Greeters Volunteers will welcome the guests as they enter the Feast area. Volunteers will also assist some guests with seating and transportation to dining tables.

Bring your BEST energized Holiday spirit! Singing and jingle bells are welcomed!

Face Painting We're looking for experienced face painters to transform little faces into walking works of art! Paints, brushes, stencils and other ideas are provided. Ages 14 & up only, please.

Children's Crafts Volunteers will assist with holiday crafts along with the San Antonio DoSeum. With your supervision, your children are welcome to volunteer with you!

Santa Claus-Stage Area Volunteers will help keep lines orderly and from overflowing into immediate areas. Volunteers will also help make sure everyone has room to move.

Santa Claus - Letter area Volunteers will help with letter writing, keeping lines orderly, and guests from overflowing into walkways. Volunteers will also help make sure everyone has room to move.

Beverage Service – Volunteers will ensure that guests have beverages of their choice in a timely manner.  Duties may include:

Serving drinks to those guests who come directly to the beverage sections and delivering to others as they enjoy their meal.  Clean and mop as necessary Working in pairs as Drink Runners to deliver beverages to guests in the dining room (1 partner will carry a tray containing drinks and the other will open and serve the beverage)  Working in one of the two coffee sections to assist guests with obtaining coffee, stocking creamers and sweeteners

Recycling and Mopping  Volunteers will sort used cans, plastic bottles, and cardboard, dump liquids, and transport items to the indicated recycling area.

Pie Cutting Volunteers are needed to cut the frozen pies into slices and place on plates so they have time to thaw before being served.
