Emerging Leaders = Super Summer Readers!

Calling all "Reading Sidekicks"! San Antonio Youth Literacy (SAYL), Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio (BGCSA) and SA Youth have combined forces to execute the Super Summer Readers program! This 10-week program will provide students with a designated reading time for one hour a day, three days a week, consisting of 30 minutes of paired reading and 30 minutes of reading extension activities. During this time, volunteers “Reading Sidekicks” will work with students to provide them with reading support. Students will be provided with eight books to read over the summer with the support of their Reading Sidekicks. Volunteers may sign up to volunteer for one shift or multiple shifts throughout the summer! Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older, able to pass a criminal background check, and complete a 30-minute video orientation. You choose the date, time and location that works best for you!
