Help us feed our community! On the day of the activity, your site supervisor will assign you the tasks listed below. Depending on the needs, all Mercado volunteer tasks may be interchangeable with Shopping Attendant or Warehouse Assistant roles. Please wear closed-toe shoes and be ready for rain or shine! Some work done in the Esperanza Mercado may require volunteers to bend, stoop, and stand for long periods and to lift 20+ pounds.
Grocery Clerk: organizing and refilling the store, preparing immediate packaging, breaking down boxes, and cleaning your work area.
Shopping Attendant: guiding members of our community through their grocery shopping, bagging their chosen items, and delivering their items to their vehicles. Tasks also include keeping track of the individuals you assist, data entry, and other responsibilities.
Warehouse Assistant: sorting and organizing cases of food, receiving deliveries from food trucks, and moving cases to the grocery store.
