Family Service

Family Service has been building strong families since 1903. Our mission is to help individuals and families improve their lives and strengthen their communities. As a private, non-profit, non-sectarian agency funded by the United Way, fee-for-service contracts with both public and private organizations, foundation and corporate grants, private contributions, client fees, and outpatient mental health insurance. Fees are charged on a sliding scale, and no one is denied help because they cannot pay the full cost of service.  

As the oldest human services agency in San Antonio dedicated to helping families in need. Family Service provides an expansive breadth of social services to men, women and children of diverse ethnic, racial and socio-economic backgrounds. 

Our services include:

Counseling, Parent Education Classes, SMART START Connections, Families and Schools Together (FAST), Youth Against Gang Activity (YAGA) In-home Personal Care Services, Guardianship Services, Employee Assistance Program, Child Care Resource & Referral, KidShare, Helping Children Cope with Divorce, Adopt-A-Family, Head Start, and Uniform Collection and Distribution.
