Who We Are
THRU Project Is a nonprofit organization helping foster youth in San Antonio, Bexar County, and surrounding areas overcome the challenges of growing up in the foster care system by providing guidance, support, and advocacy to prepare them for life after foster care.
What We Do
THRU Project aims to remove any barriers current or former youth may face after foster care through the following programs: mentorship, bus passes, cell phones, life skill events, and housing. We are always looking for volunteers in our mentoring program. The purpose of the THRU Project mentoring program is to provide a trusted adult (mentor) to a youth in the foster care system, or a youth who has left the foster care system. The role of the mentor is to give guidance and support to help foster a life of stable independence for their mentee.
